Front-End Developer

Mercova Media is fast growing marketing and technology firm. We are currently looking to add another front-end developer to our amazing team. Our team is experienced and collectively we have built over 1000+ websites.

Our front-end developers work with a project manager and account manager in determining the scope of the project for client, the design and execution of web and mobile products. We are looking for a self-starter who likes autonomy but can also work with a team. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with experience in user experience and user interface design.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop functional and appealing web- and mobile-based applications based on usability
  • Provide website maintenance and enhancements
  • Use a combination of markup languages to write web pages
  • Write functional requirement documents and specifications
  • Create quality mockups and prototypes on tight timelines
  • Assist back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
  • Create CSS that are consistent across all browsers and platforms
  • Maintain graphic standards and branding throughout the product’s interface
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
  • Promote usability best practices
Desired Skills & Experience
  • At least 2+ years of front-end experience either in-house or an agency
  • Knowledge and user interface know-how with CSS, HTML, Javascript and jQuery
  • Understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, with some back-end knowledge
  • Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets
  • Understand when mobile web apps are appropriate as opposed to native applications
  • The best candidates have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress, as well as software programs like the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is also a big plus
  • Work with client services, sales, and the design team, and manage time across multiple projects and tasks in a deadline-driven, team environments
  • Participate in discussions with clients and team members about technical best practices and help teams identify optimal technical solutions
  • Understand Agile methodology and instill best practices into the process
