Social Media Intern

Mercova Media is looking to add another social media intern to our team. If you’re looking to build your resume, learn real-life job skills, and strengthen strategic and creative skills in the area of social media and content development, this role’s calling your name. You’ll be asked to get into the nitty gritty monitoring online conversations, quickly responding to customer service issues, and flagging opportunities to engage with fans in unique and fun ways.

The ideal candidate will come to the table with a knowledge of the various social media channels; have excellent written communication skills; is comfortable with data; happy executing on a tactical level; and has some prior experience working in a marketing, social media, or content role. Extra points if you already have some digital photography skills. This is a great position for a college senior or recent grad!

Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage clients’ social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.)
  • Develop and execute social media content and posting on a schedule on all social media accounts
  • Write, design, and post original, high-quality content on social media sites for clients
  • Work with clients to create custom social media campaigns
  • Communicate with customers’ clients via social media (answer questions, comment on posts, etc)
  • Help clients improve social engagement, growth and lead opportunities
  • Track KPIs & benchmarks to communicate analytics to clients
  • Work with other departments (Development & Design, Project Management, SEO, and Online Marketing Coordinators to develop an integrated marketing strategy for clients when needed)
  • Manage client social advertising (content, budget, reporting, etc.)
  • Manage clients' reputation by facilitation, monitoring and responding to online reviews and posts

Required Skills & Experience
  • At least 6 months to 1 year of experience managing social media either in-house or an agency.)
  • Interest and knowledge in online marketing strategies
  • Bright, quick, and capable to adjust with digital landscape
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to balance, multi-task and prioritize requests and still meet deadlines
  • A great team player with distinctive interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Understanding of Google Business Apps: Gmail, Drive, Presentation, etc
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) or similar software
